There's something whimsical about the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.  It's the cornerstone or extremely well known symbol of the city.  This trip to New Orleans, I finally went inside and the interior is just as magical as  the exterior.  The hand painted images on the ceiling and gold crown molding were exquisite.  The attention to detail was breathtaking.  As many times as I had been to New Orleans, I was unaware the cathedral was open to public.  But extremely excited I had the opportunity to explore this trip!

Most people thrive on Bourbon Street when visiting New Orleans.  I can do without the chaos from Bourbon.  I prefer exploring the city and viewing the French Quarter's historic architecture which is absolutely gorgeous.  The railway for the trollies make the view on Canal even more visually appealing.

Lastly, you cannot be in the French Quarters without visiting the world famous Cafe Du Monde. Their fresh beignets generously covered in powdered sugar and famous cafe au lait is a New Orleans timeless experience.  The great thing about Cafe Du Monde are their hours.  They're open 24/7 so you can visit bright and early in the morning or after a night out on Bourbon Street.  Their beignets and cafe au lait is always hot and ready! It is a place you must visit when you head to New Orleans.

Lastly, you cannot go to NOLA without stopping by Drago's at the Hilton.  Their charbroiled oysters are TO DIE FOR!  They're simply amazing.  They're grilled and topped with lemon zest and parmesan cheese.  I don't normally eat oysters, but these are the exception!  They're simply amazing!

This time, I also had to try the alligator bites.  They are also quite a southern delectable.
